Fourth Week: Population Geography

The Population Geography section covers covers one week of class time (suggested) and begins with defining some basic measures of population. We then introduce the Demographic Transition Model and end with population distributions and trends.

The Population Geography section contains three separate days:
Day 1: Measures and Metrics introduces basic ideas of mortality, fertility and increase rates.
Day 2: Demographic Transition Model explains population changes through history.
Day 3: Distributions and Projections deals with population locations and future trends.
